Through this course, you will learn:
- How to Speed Up Your Workflow: Customise settings, adjust keyboard shortcuts, organise panels, and use automation scripts to streamline your process.
- Advanced Text and Formatting: Restyle text across documents, work with glyphs, and apply advanced text formatting like paragraph shading and column spanning.
- Efficient Lists and Tables: Automate bulleted lists, create and manage tables, import spreadsheets, and restyle table fonts and colours.
- Asset Management: Build and share libraries with reusable colours, type styles, and graphics, and apply your visual style across multiple layouts with one click.
- Page Control and Layout: Automate complex documents, manage parent pages, use multiple page sizes, and create layout grids to ensure consistent alignment.
- Enhanced Graphics and PDFs: Work with cut-out graphics, apply advanced transparency effects, and optimise PDFs for reliable output, ensuring colour consistency for both print and digital.
Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who wants to improve their skills using Adobe InDesign to create more advanced digital and printable layouts for personal and commercial use.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course; however, you will need to be able to read and write in English at Entry Level 3 to get the most out of your learning. You also need to be able to use a computer effectively and have access to a good standard computer in order to be able to participate online. We do not provide the InDesign software, so you need to have a InDesign Adobe licence.

How you will learn
Learners will gain knowledge via presentations, demonstrations, group discussions, questions and answer sessions and practical exercises.
What will you need to bring
You need to have an InDesign Adobe licence. You will need a good speed computer and fast internet connection. You cannot undertake this with a smart phone or Ipad, you must have a computer.
How you will be assessed
You will be assessed via practical activities, workbooks, group and pair activities and presentations.
Where next?
You can progress onto relevant programmes at the college, such as Graphic Design or Web Design or you can undertake business and finance qualifications at the college, such as Business Skills, Bookkeeping or courses designed to help you set up your own business.
What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
