Through this course, you will:
- Master InDesign Basics: Understand the interface, open and edit documents, and utilise speed tips and shortcuts to improve your workflow.
- Create and Optimise Documents: Learn how to create different-sized documents, add pages, and optimise for print, web, or mobile devices.
- Text and Typography: Import, edit, and style text, create custom type styles, and flow text around images and shapes.
- Work with Images and Layouts: Import, scale, and crop images, create complex layouts with layers, guides, and page numbering, and apply graphical effects like drop shadows and gradients.
- Colour and Design Assets: Create custom colours, use colour modes (RGB & CMYK), and build a design library for reuse across documents.
- Export and Save Designs: Export your work to various formats, including press-ready PDFs, JPGs, and PNGs, optimised for print, web, and social media.
Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who wants to learn how to use Adobe InDesign to create amazing digital and printable layouts for personal and commercial use.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course; however, you will need to be able to read and write in English at Entry Level 3 to get the most out of your learning. You also need to be able to use a computer effectively and have access to a good standard computer in order to be able to participate online. We do not provide the InDesign software, so you need to have a InDesign Adobe licence.
What you will learn
Through this course, you will:

How you will learn
Learners will gain knowledge via presentations, demonstrations, group discussions, questions and answer sessions and practical exercises.
What will you need to bring
You need to have an InDesign Adobe licence. You will need a good speed computer and fast internet connection. You cannot undertake this with a smart phone or Ipad, you must have a computer.
How you will be assessed
You will be assessed via practical activities, workbooks, group and pair activities and presentations.

What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
