Description

Discover our Microsoft Office short courses designed to enhance your intermediate-level proficiency in Excel, Word, or databases. Whether you're looking to plug skills gap or focus on mastering a specific MS application, these courses are tailored to provide targeted learning.These courses are perfect for quickly acquiring essential employability skills relevant to your current role or desired job position. In these courses you can choose the Microsoft applications you wish to learn and spend four weeks on each application. Your end date for the course will be based on how many applications you choose. During the pre-course interview, you will select your start date for your learning and the applications you want to study.  

Who is this course for?
These courses enable you to develop your skills using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases. These are non accredited short courses that enable you to focus on the developing the skills and knowledge for a particular MS office application/s. The start date of the course is flexible so you can agreed a start and end date of your learning with your tutor at the pre-course interview.

Entry Requirements
Whilst no prior knowledge of using MS Office applications is required, you would need to have basic digital skills in using a computer, mouse and keyboard. If you do not have these skills then we would recommend that you enrol onto our IT for Beginners course.

What you will learn
These 4 week short courses help you become better at using Word, Excel, Presentation, and database software. You will learn skills to work more effectively with these programs for personal and professional tasks.

How you will learn
Learners will gain knowledge via presentations, demonstrations, group discussions, question and answer sessions and practical exercises. You will be provided with e-learning lessons and resources that you can access both in the classroom and remotely at home. Being able to access these resources at home, will support your practice and improve your progression through the course.

What will you need to bring
We will provide e-resources for your course. You will need to have pen and paper for additional notes, and you would benefit from having a memory (USB) stick to save your work on.

How you will be assessed
You and your teacher will track your learning progress and set developmental targets. There will be practice exercises and infomral assessments which enable to measure how well you are progressing. There are no formal exams for these short courses.

Where next?
The next progression step would be to enrol onto ICDL Level 2 or Advanced Level 3 ICDL.

What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
