Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who is interested in learning use charcoal artistically.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course; however, you will need to be able to read and write in English at Entry Level 3 to get the most out of your learning.
What you will learn
You will work with materials such as rubbers, charcoal, and handmade paper stumps (tortillons) to explore and manipulate light and dark in their drawings. Through this process, they will learn how to compose a drawing, control and vary their mark-making, and explore tonal values to create depth and contrast.
How you will learn
You will learn via presentations, practical activities, workbooks, group and paired activities and group discussions.
What will you need to bring
A notepad and a pen.

What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
