Description

Discover the art of floral design. Perfect for beginners, this course introduces the fundamental techniques of flower arranging, helping you develop creativity and practical skills in floral craft. Whether you're looking to pursue a career in floristry or simply enjoy working with flowers, this course provides a strong foundation to build upon.
Through this course, you will:
- Explore basic floristry techniques, including wiring, arranging, and presentation.Learn how to condition and care for flowers to maximise their longevity.
- Create a range of floral designs, such as hand-tied bouquets and seasonal arrangements.
- Experiment with colour, texture, and design principles to enhance your floral creations.
- Understand the importance of health and safety when working with floristry tools and materials.

Please note: The qualification you will earn from undertaking this programme of learning is the NCFE Level 1 Award in Creative Craft (Art & Design)  

Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who is interested in earning a qualification in Floristry.

Entry Requirements
You need to have a good level of English and Maths. You must have sucessfuly completed the Floristry Intro before you can enrol on this course.

You will learn via practical activities, workbooks, group and pair activities and presentations.

A notepad and a pen.

How you will be assessed
You will be assessed via observations, practical activities and the construction of a portfolio, including written work.

You can progress onto relevant programmes at the college, such as Business Skills, Bookkeeping or courses designed to help you start your own business, or you can undertake other creative qualifications at the college, such as Graphic Design..

What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
