This beginner-friendly course introduces you to the fundamentals of capturing and editing stunning images, whether for personal enjoyment or as a first step toward a creative career.
Throughout this course, you will:
- Learn the basics of camera settings, composition, and lighting.
- Explore different photography techniques and styles.
- Develop skills in editing and enhancing images using digital tools.
- Build confidence in creating and presenting your own photographic work.

Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who wants to earn a qualification in photography, either for professional or personal purposes.

Entry Requirements
You need to have successfully completed the Introduction to Photography. You need at least a Level 1 qualification In Maths and English. Please note - A DSLR camera is required to take part in the course.

What you will learn
You will learn the principles of photographic practice, learning the different techniques that produce different forms of photographs, including the use of equipment such as tripods and the use of lenses. Throughout this course, you will: - Learn the basics of camera settings, composition, and lighting. - Explore different photography techniques and styles. - Develop skills in editing and enhancing images using digital tools. - Build confidence in creating and presenting your own photographic work.

How you will learn
You will learn via practical exercises, presentations, group and pair activities and the completion of workbooks.

What will you need to bring
A DSLR camera, a notepad and a pen.

Where next?
If the course is right for you at the present time, you can progress onto other creative courses at the college, such as the Level 1 in Video Production. Alternatively, you can enrol on a business course, such as Business Skills, Bookkeeping, or courses designed to help you Set up your own business.

What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
