Description
Learn the essential basics including chords, strumming patterns, and iconic blues riffs with our guitar beginners course. Perfect for aspiring guitarists, this course will have you playing well-known songs in no time. You willl need to provide your own acoustic guitar, but we'll supply the expertise and guidance to help you play with confidence.
Who is this course for?
This course is for beginners who wish to start learning how to play the guitar.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course; however, you will need to be able to read and write in English at Entry Level 3 to get the most out of your learning. You must bring your own acoustic guitar.
What you will learn
You will learn how to hold the guitar properly, make open chord shapes, how to strum, how to pick out melodies etc. The curriculum is built around the Blues.
How you will learn
You will learn by following you tutor in playing the guitar, performances, group work, partnership working and written analysis.
What will you need to bring
Your own acoustic guitar, a notepad and a pen.
How you will be assessed
You will be assessed via observation of your guitar playing and will be provided with verbal and written feedback.

What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
