What you will learn
At Entry Level 1, you’ll start building confidence with everyday maths. You’ll learn how to work with numbers, use simple measures, and understand basic information in charts or tables. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to: Count, read, write, and compare numbers up to 20, Add and subtract simple numbers, Recognise and name coins and notes, and understand simple money calculations, Use words like 'more than'or “less than” to compare amounts, Tell the time to the hour and understand days of the week, Understand and use simple measurements (e.g. size, weight, length), Read basic information from simple charts or tables. This course will help you with everyday tasks like shopping, telling the time, and understanding bills or signs—giving you a strong foundation to move on to Entry Level 2 when you're ready.
How you will learn
You will gain knowledge via presentations, demonstrations, group discussions, question and answer sessions and practical exercises.
What will you need to bring
We will provide handouts, resources and access to a MyMaths account. You will need to have pen and paper for additional notes.
How you will be assessed
At Entry Level 1, 2 and 3, you will complete a paper-based assessment. The test is made up of short, practical questions which is internally marked and externally quality assured by City and Guilds.
At Level 1 and 2, you will take an externally marked assessment.

Once you have completed the qualificiation, we'll support you in your next steps which could be Entry Level 2. We will offer helpful information, advice, and guidance to point you toward other courses that match your goals and interests.
What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
