What you will learn
Entry Level 3 helps you use maths confidently in more everyday situations. You will strengthen your number skills, work with time and measurements, and learn how to read and interpret simple data. By the end of the course, you will be able to: Add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers up to 3 digits, Understand place value and use number facts, Solve problems involving money, time, and measures, Measure length, weight, capacity, temperature and time using standard units, Read and use simple scales, Recognise and describe properties of 2D and 3D shapes, Interpret simple charts and tables (e.g. bar charts, tally charts), Work with simple fractions and decimals, Understand simple ratios and estimates. This level helps you apply maths in real-life situations like reading a bus timetable, measuring ingredients, or working out change, preparing you for Level 1.
How you will learn
You will gain knowledge via presentations, demonstrations, group discussions, question and answer sessions and practical exercises.
What will you need to bring
We will provide handouts, resources and access to a MyMaths account. You will need to have pen and paper for additional notes.
How you will be assessed
At Entry Level 1, 2 and 3, you will complete a paper-based assessment. The test is made up of short, practical questions which is internally marked and externally quality assured by City and Guilds.
At Level 1 and 2, you will take an externally marked assessment.

Once you have completed the qualificiation, we'll support you in your next steps which could be Level 1. We will offer helpful information, advice, and guidance to point you toward other courses that match your goals and interests.
What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
