The Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ICDL Extra) helps you become better at using Word, Excel, and Presentation software. In this course, you will learn skills to work more effectively with these programs for personal and professional tasks. You will create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, improving your productivity and confidence with IT tools. This certification is recognised and can boost your job prospects by showing you have strong IT skills.
Who is this course for?
This course enables you to develop your skills using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases at an intermediate level. The start date of the course is flexible so you can agreed a start and end date of your learning with your tutor.

Please attend a pre-course interview so that we can identify which course would be the most appropriate starting level for you.
What you will learn
In this course, you will learn skills to work more effectively with Microsoft programs for personal and professional tasks.
You will:
- Create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations,
- Improving your productivity and confidence with IT tools.
How you will learn
Learners will gain knowledge via presentations, demonstrations, group discussions, question and answer sessions and practical exercises.
You will be provided with e-learning lessons and resources that you can access both in the classroom and remotely at home. Being able to access these resources at home, will support your practice and improve your progression through the course.
What will you need to bring
We will provide e-resources for your course. You will need to have pen and paper for additional notes, and you would benefit from having a memory (USB) stick to save your work on.
How you will be assessed
There will be an online mock exam followed by an online exam for each of the 4 units within the qualification.

What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
