Description

This four-week beginner course is designed to help you develop fundamental digital skills for everyday tasks. You will learn how to manage files, browse the internet safely, fill out online forms, and gain confidence using word processing programs. Hands-on activities will introduce you to basic typing, saving documents, and understanding key functions of digital devices. Whether you're looking to improve your online skills for personal use or build a foundation for further learning, this course provides a supportive and practical introduction to the digital world.  

Who is this course for?
This digital skills course is for beginners or those who need to refresh their skills and build confidence before moving onto the next level.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this course; however, you will need to be able to read and write in English at Entry Level 3 to get the most out of your learning. Please attend a pre-course interview so that we can identify which course would be the most appropriate starting level for you.

What you will learn
You will learn how to: - Manage files, - Browse the internet safely, - Fill out online forms, - Gain confidence using word processing programs. Hands-on activities will introduce you to: - Basic typing, - Saving documents, - Understand key functions of digital devices.

How you will learn
You will gain knowledge via presentations, demonstrations, group discussions, question and answer sessions and practical exercises.

What will you need to bring
We will provide handouts and resources for your course. You will need to have pen and paper for additional notes, and you would benefit from having a memory (USB) stick to save your work on.

How you will be assessed
Your tutor will be there to support you every step of the way, offering helpful feedback to build your confidence and develop your practical digital skills. This will help you feel ready to move on to the next level of learning. Towards the end of the course, you’ll have the chance to take part in some hands-on digital tasks and activities to show what you’ve learned and how far you’ve come.

What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
