This course will help you understand the causes of challenging behavior and equip you with strategies to support positive outcomes in various care and educational settings.
Throughout this course, you will:
- Understand the factors that contribute to challenging behavior.
- Learn how to assess and manage behavior effectively.
- Explore strategies to promote positive behavior and communication.
- Gain insight into creating supportive, inclusive environments for individuals with challenging behaviour.
Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who wants to support individuals with behaviour issues. This can include children sufferening the effects of anxiety, neglect, abuse, learning disibilities or conditions such as dementia.
Entry Requirements
If English is your second language you will need to have passed an enrty level 3 ESOL qualification and be working towards a level 1.
What you will learn
You will gain knowledge in behaviour that challenges, how to support positive behaviour, and effective communication and management. You will also gain an understanding of reflection and support for those involved in incidents of behaviour that challenges.
How you will learn
This is an online self study course. Your tutor will be there to support you every step of the way, offering helpful feedback to build your confidence and support you through the course.

You will be assess through activities and work projects
Where next?
On completing this course you can progress onto either Early Years or Teacher Assistant courses. This course could also support you in roles such as: Teaching Assistant, Nursery Worker or Learning Mentor.
What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
