Description

This course is your first step to gaining the essential skills and knowledge to work in a school setting. You'll learn key topics like safeguarding, communication, and the roles of school staff, preparing you to confidently support children and young people in the classroom.
Throughout this course, you will:
- Understand the roles and responsibilities of school staff
- Develop key skills for effective communication in schools
- Gain knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
- Build confidence to work within a school environment
You will also gain Level 1 Award in Interpersonal Skills and an Entry Level 3 Award in British Values qualification.  

Who is this course for?
This course is for people who want to work with children.

Entry Requirements
If English is your second language you will need to have passed an enrty level 3 ESOL qualification and be working towards a level 1.

What you will learn
You will learn a range of topics on how to support children in a school environment. Throughout this course, you will: - Understand the roles and responsibilities of school staff - Develop key skills for effective communication in schools - Gain knowledge of safeguarding and child protection - Build confidence to work within a school environment You will also gain Level 1 Award in Interpersonal Skills and an Entry Level 3 Award in British Values qualification.

How you will learn
Learners will gain knowledge via presentations, demonstrations, group discussions, question and answer sessions and practical exercises.

What will you need to bring

How you will be assessed
Students will be assessed using classroom activities to produce a portfolio.

Where next?
On sucessful completing, students will progress onto a level 2 qualification. This will require a school placement.

What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
