Description

This course equips you with the knowledge and practical skills to support teachers and help children thrive in the classroom. Perfect for those aiming to work as teaching assistants or in other support roles, this qualification will provide you with a strong foundation in education and child development.
Throughout this course, you will:
- Understand the role and responsibilities of a teaching assistant
- Develop practical skills to support learning and classroom management
- Learn how to promote positive behavior and support children's well-being
- Gain an understanding of safeguarding and the importance of inclusion in schools
You will also gain an Entry Level 3 Award in British Values qualification.  

Who is this course for?
Students who want to work in a school setting with primary age children.

Entry Requirements
If English is not your first language you need to have achieved a Level 1 ESOL qualification.You will also need to have a placement in a school for 6 hours per week.

What you will learn
You will learn many aspects of the role of a teaching assistant. This will include: how children grow and develop, safeguarding, behaviour management, health and safety, schools and colleges as organisations, equality, diversity and inclusion, play an Throughout this course, you will: - Understand the role and responsibilities of a teaching assistant - Develop practical skills to support learning and classroom management - Learn how to promote positive behavior and support children’s well-being - Gain an understanding of safeguarding and the importance of inclusion in schools You will also gain a Level 2 Certificate in Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values qualification.

How you will learn
Learners will gain knowledge via presentations, demonstrations, group discussions, question and answer sessions and practical exercises.

How you will be assessed
You will build a portfolio of evidence. This will include assignments, observations, teachers feedback, professional discussions and reflection sheets.

Where next?
On sucessful completing, students will progress onto a level 3 qualification. This will require a school placement for 8 hours per week.

What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
