Description

This course provides learners with essential knowledge and skills for using social media effectively in job searching. The course covers the following key areas: Understanding Social Media Platforms: Learners will explore various general and specialist social media platforms, learning to distinguish between the two and understand their unique features and purposes. Safe and Responsible Social Media Use: The course addresses risks to personal safety and reputation, teaching learners how to use social media safely and responsibly, with a focus on protecting their professional image. Using Social Media for Job Prospecting: Learners will discover different strategies for job hunting on social media, including networking, researching employers, sharing CVs, and creating a strong professional presence.

How you will be assessed
You will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence that you build throughout the course. This portfolio will demonstrate how you meet the assessment criteria for each unit. Your portfolio will include activities such as creating social media profiles, networking with potential employers, and producing job-seeking materials like CVs. Regular feedback from your tutor will help you ensure your portfolio meets the qualification standards. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded a Level 1 Award in Employability Skills – Using Social Media for Job Prospecting

What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
