Description

Perfect for beginners, this course will introduce you to the skills and techniques needed to create stunning, professional-looking cake designs. Whether you're interested in baking as a hobby or aiming for a career in cake decoration, this course is the perfect start.

Throughout this course, you will:
- Learn basic cake decoration techniques such as icing, piping, and fondant work
- Explore the tools and materials used in cake decoration
- Develop skills to create beautifully decorated cakes for special occasions
- Gain confidence in working with different decorative styles and techniques

Please note: The qualification you will earn by undertaking this programme of learning is the NCFE Level 1 Award in Creative Craft (Art and Design).  

Who is this course for?
This course is for anyone who wants to earn a qualification in Sugarcraft.

Entry Requirements
You need to have successfully completed the Introduction to Sugarcraft course. You also need to have at least a Level 1 Qualification in Maths or English. If you do not possess these, your English and Maths needs to be of a good standard.

You will plan, produce and reflect upon your own cake decoration craft work, using the tools, materials and equipment required to produce a craft itemwhilst maintaining a safe working environment. You will learn by demonstrations, presentations, workbooks, practical activities and the construction of a portfolio, including written work.

Where next?
You can be referred to other creative qualifications at the college, such as Floristry and Graphic Design.

What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
