Entry Requirements
Learners should already hold an assessing qualification and have experience in assessment. Access to assessors and assessment processes within an organisation is required. A good standard of English is recommended.
What you will learn
This qualification builds on assessment practice and focuses on internal quality assurance. Topics include:
- Planning, managing, and monitoring IQA systems
- Developing and implementing IQA strategies
- Supporting and standardising assessors
- Ensuring consistency and fairness in assessment decisions
- Meeting regulatory and awarding body requirements
- Managing risk and contributing to continuous improvement
How you will learn
Learning takes place through a mix of theory and practical application, including tutor-led sessions, discussions, and real IQA activities within a learning or workplace environment.
What will you need to bring
Learners should bring basic stationery such as a notebook and pen. Access to assessors and assessment records is required to complete practical activities.
How you will be assessed
Assessment includes written assignments and practical IQA activities. You will plan IQA activities, sample assessment decisions, provide feedback to assessors, and maintain accurate documentation to demonstrate competence.

The Level 4 IQA Award can lead to roles in internal quality assurance, quality management, or progression to external quality assurance roles and further professional development.
What we expect from you
We expect learners to attend regularly, participate actively, complete assignments on time, and maintain professional standards when carrying out quality assurance activities.
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
