The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) is designed for individuals who want to begin a career in teaching or training within the further education and skills sector. It is suitable for those who are new to teaching, as well as for individuals already delivering training who wish to gain a recognised qualification.

Entry Requirements
There are typically no formal teaching requirements to join this course. However, learners should have a good standard of English and be confident in speaking, reading, and writing.

What you will learn
This course provides a solid foundation in the key principles of teaching and learning. Topics include: - Understanding roles and responsibilities as a teacher - Planning and delivering inclusive sessions - Using a range of teaching methods - Assessing learners effectively - Creating a positive and engaging learning environment that meets the needs of diverse learners

How you will learn
You will learn through a combination of theoretical study and practical activities. This includes group discussions, tutor-led sessions, and planning exercises to help you develop your teaching skills.

What will you need to bring
Learners should bring basic stationery such as a notebook and pen. Access to a laptop or tablet may be beneficial for completing written tasks.

How you will be assessed
The qualification includes both theoretical and practical assessment. You will be required to plan and deliver a short teaching session, helping you build confidence and develop essential teaching skills. Written assignments may also form part of the assessment.

What we expect from you
We expect learners to attend regularly, participate actively in sessions, complete assignments on time, and engage positively with tutors and peers. You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
