Who is this course for?
These courses enable you to develop your skills using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases at an intermediate or advanced level.
The start date of the course is flexible so you can agreed a start and end date of your learning with your tutor at the pre-course interview.
Entry Requirements
We would ask you to attend a pre course interview so that we can identify which would be the most appropriate starting level for you. For the level 3 (advanced) ICDL, we would expect you to be a confident intermediate level user of the Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access (database).
If you would like to refresh your skills and knowledge in a particular MS application, then you can enrol on a 4 week short course to bridge the skills gap before embarking on the level 3 course.

How you will learn
Learners will gain knowledge via presentations, demonstrations, group discussions, question and answer sessions and practical exercises.
You will be provided with e-learning lessons and resources that you can access both in the classroom and remotely at home. Being able to access these resources at home, will support your practice and improve your progression through the course.
What will you need to bring
We will provide e-resources for your course. You will need to have pen and paper for additional notes, and you would benefit from having a memory (USB) stick to save your work on.
How you will be assessed
There will be an online mock exam followed by an online exam for each unit within the qualification.
There are 4 units at level 2, and 5 units within the level 3 qualification.
Where next?
The next progression step from Level 2 would be to enrol onto ICDL Advanced Level 3.
What we expect from you
You are required to attend every session. The minimum required attendance for this course is 85%. Anything below this attendance will be reviewed by the Curriculum Development Manager and you may be withdrawn from the course and the outstanding course fees will still be payable.
